Description
It was one of those perfect Gold Coast winter days. Crisp air, clear skies, and the kind of sunshine that makes everything sparkle. With the drone fully charged and the conditions ideal, I launched from a quiet spot, eager to capture the coastline from above.
As the drone climbed steadily to 400 feet, the panoramic view unfolded like a painting. The iconic Jewel Buildings, shimmering in the sun, rose proudly from the shoreline. Their glass facades reflecting the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean. From this height, the symmetry and scale of the towers were even more striking, standing like crystal guardians over Surfers Paradise.
Panning the camera northward, the Oceanway came into view. A continuous ribbon of concrete and boardwalk stretching all the way from the Gold Coast Seaway to the New South Wales border. From above, it looked like a silver thread weaving its way along the coast, hugging dunes, parks, and esplanades. The 3.5 to 5-metre-wide path bustled with morning life. Cyclists cruising in groups, joggers pacing themselves, and walkers soaking in the winter sun.
The drone glided smoothly over the shoreline, capturing surfers carving through the waves and beachgoers relaxing on the golden sands. Further along the Oceanway, people paused to take in the same view I was capturing. The perfect harmony between nature, architecture, and human movement.
Flying above it all, I was reminded of how the Gold Coast blends urban design with the natural environment. This winter flight wasn’t just about footage; it was about perspective. And from 400 feet up, the Gold Coast told a story of connection, beauty, and motion.
