As a professional photographer, I’ve always chased light—golden sunsets, cobalt dusks, and the rare, fleeting palettes that only reveal themselves when you least expect them. But one vision had stayed with me for years:

The Eiffel Tower at sunrise, wrapped not in gold—but in lavender, violet, and the soft purples of a Paris most never see.

So I boarded a flight from Australia with a single purpose: not to visit Paris, but to hunt that moment. The rare one. The poetic one. The frame that would live long after the light faded.

Paris doesn’t give up her secrets easily. Drone regulations are tight. The window for flight is narrow. Every detail had to be perfect, timing, conditions, flight path, and location. I found my launch site, discreet and precise, with a clear line of sight to the Iron Lady and just the right compression through a 166mm zoom.

That morning, Paris was still asleep. The first metro hadn’t stirred. The air held the crisp, clean scent of early spring. And then… the transformation began.

Indigo melted into violet. Violet into lavender. Lavender into whispers of rose. The sky was performing. The dream was real.

I launched the drone with silent precision. From above, the Eiffel Tower rose like a monument in a dream, its silhouette etched in soft pastels, the Seine glistening like a silver ribbon beneath it. The city below was still, reverent, as if Paris herself paused to let the light have its moment.

I framed the shot: tower off-centre, river bending just right, the horizon glowing in watercolour tones. It wasn’t just photography. It was choreography. Timing, light, and geometry dancing together in rare harmony.

The result? A frame that now speaks across the world.

“Eiffel Tower Sunrise” was officially commended in the 2025 Landscape Awards (Aerial Category)—an honor judged by some of the most respected names in the global photography community. The image now stands as a certified example of what happens when vision, planning, and persistence meet the right light.

That morning, I didn’t just capture the Eiffel Tower.
